The band
A pop-rock four-piece from Bordeaux, driven by catchy melodies and vocal harmonies.

After two EPs and several years of gigging, BARKING. (formerly Barking Spiders) has now settled into a four-piece line-up and a more clearly pop-rock direction.
The band sits at the crossroads of The Lemon Twigs, The Beatles and Supertramp, where melodies and vocal harmonies meet a rockier energy and a strong taste for arrangement. The songs play with backing vocals, changes of direction and instrumental details, always looking for the right balance between pop immediacy and musical richness.
This evolution takes shape with In ur Head, the first single of this new era. The track blends pop-rock energy, catchy melodies and cynical, rambling lyrics, following the thoughts of a character drifting between individuality, disconnection and the absurdities of everyday life.
With BARKING., the aim is to write songs that work from the very first listen while revealing new details over the next ones. Music made for the stage, where voices, melodies and arrangements come fully into their own.
While the band's early years were marked by sometimes more progressive structures, BARKING. is now heading towards more direct, brighter and more instinctive songwriting. The fun still lies in the detours, though: an unexpected break, a shifting harmony, an arrangement that catches a chorus off guard.
